The\nmain theme of the PNC 2019 is \u201cRegionality and Digital Humanities: South-South\nConnections.\u201d\n\n\n\n\n\nThe PNC 2019 serves as an opportunity for\nresearchers and developers to facilitate information exchanges among\ninstitutions of higher education in the Pacific Rim through computing and\ncommunications technology. PNC explores issues of information and technology\nexchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of the cultural\nknowledge contents. The technical program of PNC 2019 will include invited\nkeynote, paper presentations, workshops and poster session.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe PNC online paper and poster submission system is open,<strong> the submission deadline is extended to June 15<sup>th<\/sup> and the author notification will be sent on July 15<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/strong>Authors are invited to submit an anonymous 6-8 pages technical paper manuscript in double-column <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieee.org\/conferences\/publishing\/templates.html\">IEEE format<\/a>. (The style guide is included in the downloadable templates.) The proceedings of the conference will be submitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/xpl\/aboutUs.jsp\">IEEE Xplore Digital Library<\/a> for indexing. South-South Connections\n\n\n\n\n\n3.1 Climate Change\n\n\n\n\n\n3.2 Information Technology\n\n\n\n\n\n3.3 Network Infrastructure\n\n\n\n\n\n3.4 Sustainable Development\n\n\n\n\n\n<strong>Submission Categories<\/strong>\n\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n \t<li>Full Paper\n(6-8 pages)<\/li>\n \t<li>Poster, Demo\n&amp; Art Work (1 page)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n<strong>Full Paper Submission<\/strong>\n\n\n\n\n\nAuthors are invited to submit full papers through the <a href=\"https:\/\/conference.iis.sinica.edu.tw\/surl\/pnc2019\/sub\">online submission system<\/a> by June 15,\n2019. The final manuscript (camera ready)\u00a0should be ready by August 16,2019. Submissions must be original and should not have been published\npreviously while being evaluated for this conference. The paper length is 6-8\npages, including figures and tables but not including references. All submitted\npapers must conform to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieee.org\/conferences\/publishing\/templates.html\">IEEE Xplore Format<\/a> for\nconference proceedings.\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the reviewing will be blind, papers must not include authors&#8217;\nnames and affiliations. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author&#8217;s\nidentity, e.g., &#8220;We previously showed (Smith, 1991) &#8230;&#8221; must be\navoided. Instead, use citations such as &#8220;Smith previously showed (Smith,\n1991) &#8230;&#8221; Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be\nrejected without review.\n\n\n\n\n\nPapers should not refer, for further detail, to documents that are\nnot available to the reviewers. For example, do not omit or redact important\ncitation information to preserve anonymity. Instead, use third person or named\nreference to this work, as described above (\u201cSmith showed\u201d rather than \u201cwe\nshowed\u201d).\n\n\n\n\n\n<strong>Artwork, Poster and\nVendor Submission<\/strong>\n\n\n\n\n\nArtists, designers and practice-based\nresearchers engaging in computational and communications media and technology\nare invited to submit proposals for exhibiting work that responds to this\nyear&#8217;s conference themes of \u201cRegionality, Digital Humanities and South-South\nConnections\u201d. Authors are invited to submit abstracts (max. 500 words) by June\n15, 2019. For the poster competition, participants are required to give an oral\norientation. The best poster award will be selected after evaluation by the\nGrading\u00a0Committee.
