Dear colleagues,<\/p>\n

The DH2018 Program Committee is happy to let\u00a0you know that we\u2019re building on last year\u2019s effort\u00a0to expand our pool of\u00a0reviewers. This expansion is in line with ADHO\u2019s conference protocol\u00a0[http:\/\/adho.org\/administration\/conference-coordinating\/adho-conference-protocol<\/a>]\u00a0that new\u00a0reviewers be invited to participate in the DH conference review\u00a0process.\u00a0\u00a0We believe not only that an\u00a0expanded reviewer pool will make the work of the PC easier and better (on the\u00a0\u201cmany hands\u00a0make light work\u201d principle), but also that reviewing for the\u00a0conference is one of the most important ways of engaging our\u00a0community,\u00a0encouraging greater community ownership of our conference, and enabling deeper\u00a0involvement in it.<\/p>\n

This year in particular, with the conference\u00a0being hosted in Latin America, we are keen to recruit\u00a0more reviewers in the two\u00a0primary languages of the region: Spanish and Portuguese.\u00a0\u00a0As you may know, it is the recommendation of\u00a0ADHO\u2019s\u00a0Multilingual\/Multicultural Committee to accept conference submissions in\u00a0a particular language as long as there are\u00a0sufficient reviewers in that\u00a0language; it is our hope that we can add Portuguese to the DH linguistic\u00a0community in this\u00a0way, and that DH2018 will be remembered as a small watershed\u00a0in the promotion of multilingualism and multiculturalism.<\/p>\n

We would like to ask each CO, SIG, and\u00a0Committee to circulate a simple call for nominations of\u00a0qualified reviewers\u00a0based on the following criteria:<\/p>\n
