Journal of Digital Archives and Digital Humanities

Established in 2017 by the Taiwanese Association for Digital Humanities, the Journal of Digital Archives and Digital Humanities is a leading platform for original, peer-reviewed research in digital archives and digital humanities, especially within the Chinese-speaking world. The journal also seeks to expand its international reach.

In recent decades, the growing use of information technology to digitally represent and preserve cultural heritage has transformed how we manage, access, and utilize cultural assets. These advancements have enhanced digital preservation practices and opened new avenues for research and education.

The emergence of digital infrastructure for cultural resources offers fertile ground for humanities and social science scholars to explore questions that were previously unimaginable. The application of computational tools to the humanities has inspired vibrant interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly in Taiwan, where the government has actively supported national initiatives in digital archiving since the 1990s.

Since 2009, the annual International Conference of Digital Archives and Digital Humanities in Taiwan has provided a key venue for scholars exploring digital approaches to humanities research and pedagogy. As interest in the field continues to grow, the Journal of Digital Archives and Digital Humanities responds to the need for a more permanent and inclusive space for scholarly exchange. By fostering dialogue across disciplines, the journal promotes innovative approaches that deepen our understanding of the past, illuminate the present, and shape the future.
